Hello 3rd Graders!
Today's Learning Target is...
I CAN develop and algorithm or program with sequences and simple loops.
I CAN debug errors in an algorithm or program that includes sequences and simple loops.
Today's app / program is: Span Software

As we continue learning how to solve the Rubik's Cube, we will also continue observing it from a scientific, technological, engineering, artistic, and mathematical perspective.
In this lesson you will explore quadrilaterals. Squares, rectagles, trapezoids, and rhombuses are quadrilaterals. How many sides and angles do quadrilaterals have? What type of angles do they have?
Today we will be working in 3 stations:
Red Station: For today's task you will explore quadrilaterals with Botley the Coding Robot. Your team will develop and then program an algorithms of sequences and simple loops (code) for him to execute (follow).

Say hello to Botley! Botley is a cute little box-shaped robot that can be programmed with a remote programmer.

First, use the coding cards to plan and develop your algorithm. Which code cards will you need to make Botley draw a square on the Paper?
Lastly, test out your program (algorithm) by entering the code on the remote programmer and pressing transmit. If Botley does not draw a square, debug your program (algorithm) by rearranging, adding, or taking away coding cards.

Bonus:
Try to use the "loop" button to make your program more efficient. You will need to press the loop button at the beginning of the program and then again at the end. However many times you press the loop button at the end is how many times the program will repeat. Figure out how many steps and repeats you will need, and then test out your program.
**If you have time see if you can program Botley to draw a rectangle or a cirlce.***
